Capital Dynamics Clean Energy Infrastructure invests in high-quality, utility-scale clean energy assets in North America and Europe, focusing on opportunities with long-term contracted revenues. Projects include solar, wind, biomass and hydro, conventional gas generation and waste gas-fueled power generation. As a market leader with broad exposure to power markets across geographies and technologies, Capital Dynamics is well-positioned to identify, assess and capitalise on opportunities.
In the US, the team primarily implements a buy-and-hold strategy along with selective development investments. In the UK and Europe, the team targets value-added opportunities that capitalise on the changing marketplace for European renewables.
The portfolio includes 7.9 GW of gross power generation across more than 150 projects in the United States and Europe and $6.5 billion of AUM/tax equity1, and has one of the longest track records in the industry.
Since the Clean Energy Infrastructure (CEI) platform’s inception in 2010, over 17 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions have been avoided as a result of the firm’s renewable investments2. This is equivalent to the power needed to supply more than 3 million homes or passenger vehicles for one year. In 2019, the CEI strategy received top rankings from GRESB (the ESG benchmark for real assets) for commitment to sustainability, and was awarded Global PE Energy Firm of the Year by Private Equity International.
CD Arevon and Arevon Energy, Capital Dynamics’ exclusive asset management affiliates operating from the US and UK, provide highly specialised asset management services for renewable energy investments across the entire project lifecycle, including:
Evaluating potential acquisitions, managing late-stage development, leading procurement activities and developing the construction strategy.
Managing and overseeing engineering, procurement and construction activity.
Comprising a broad range of asset management, performance analysis, technical services, commercial, financial, accounting, audit, tax, compliance and administrative services.
“Investing in clean energy infrastructure when done correctly, can provide investors with a bond-like, long-term stream of stable cash flow with low correlation to the long-term macroeconomic environment. That risk/return profile is why it’s so suitable for our pension, endowment, super fund, insurance and sovereign wealth clients across the globe.”
